The Masses Editorial Board received the following statement and report from People’s Defense Chicago concerning the extra-judicial executions by the FBI of two men across the State of Illinois on October 26 and 28.
ILLINOIS – In the early evening of October 26, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, or FBI, shot and killed Venezuelan migrant Oscar Isaya-Corrale at 18th and Union in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. An “investigation” is reportedly being organized into the “incident,” but what agency is leading the “investigation”? None other than the chief internal investigator of the ruling class, the FBI itself!
Around 7:00am on October 28, the FBI then shot and killed 22-year-old Chadwick Clark, a young Black/New Afrikan man in the South suburb of Dixmoor, IL. The FBI and SWAT teams ambushed Clark and five others on Cooper Avenue between 145th/146th Streets with flash-bang devices and gunshots, and proceeded to swarm the area with State pigs and surveillance drones. Neighbors reportedly heard the FBI announce themselves moments before they rang out gunfire, continuing to proclaim they had a “search warrant.” Neighbors also expressed difficulty leaving their own homes for work.
The FBI, once again, has made its Inspection Division the “organizer” of the “investigation,” similar to its “investigation” of the death of migrant Oscar Isaya-Corrales. Clark’s death can only be described as a subsequent act of militarized war against the working and oppressed peoples in our neighborhoods.
These shootings are expressions of the military violence increasingly wielded against the masses in vain efforts to stabilize the collapsing order. As the crisis affecting the Capitalist system grows deeper, the ruling class intensifies abject militarization, repression, and exploitation at home, particularly against oppressed nationalities and national minorities. Every day, it develops the military force of its State while granting it wider immunity to violate our democratic rights.
To kill a man, to take away a life, an extra-judicial execution, we do not need the results of an FBI inspection to unequivocally condemn this!
We condemn these shootings as a means to attack and terrorize our neighbors once more. The murders of both a Black/New Afrikan and Venezuelan man by the rabid dogs of the State are representative of the larger trend toward the erosion of democratic rights, the militarization of the oppressed and exploited masses, and the open terror exercised by the ruling class.
There is a veiled civil-war being waged every day between the ruling class and the ruled, the exploiters and the exploited, the oppressors and the oppressed. The FBI pig’s blatant violence is one instance of this war breaking out into the open.
We, the People’s Defense Committee of Chicago, along with Alba del Pueblo, and Corriente Popular Damián García, are organizing our communities against this unconscionable and terroristic pig violence in our neighborhoods.
We call on our exploited and oppressed community members to join in building a combative People’s movement!
All Power to the People!
Expand the Combative People’s Movement!
Down with All Killer Cops!
Enough with Militarization!
