Statement on Operation Al-Aqsa Flood and Our Tasks in the US

By Bay Area Revolutionary Study Group

On October 7th, the unified Palestinian Resistance launched operation Al Aqsa flood. Hundreds of militants, supported by the entire population of Gaza, passed through the barriers of their prison like water through a net, and infiltrated deep into enemy controlled Palestinian territory including areas which had been under continuous occupation since 1948. The patriotic fighters were able to inflict over 1000 casualties on their occupiers, and this number continues to rise at time of writing. More importantly, they shattered the sense of security in the occupation’s mass base, inflicting widespread psychological damage which will echo for years, if the occupation is able to survive that long.

The Bay Area Revolutionary Study Groups synthesize that the principal lesson from this heroic operation is that in the face of the most brutal repression by the enemy it is the working masses in general and the proletariat in particular which will take up arms and fight, and will stand even more firmly behind their leaders as a deep well of support. We call on all revolutionary forces in the “united states” to propagate the line of the resistance to the masses as it is reported by the Resistance News Network, and to bolster the international component of the united front, led by the Palestinian diaspora, in whatever way is most appropriate in their concrete situation. In particular, this means participating in the resistance’s call for an international day of action on Friday, October 13th. We encourage comrades to join us in distributing the leaflet “Hold the Line by Knowing the Line” at rallies or other locations, and to report the quantity distributedas well as the mood of the masses.

From a strategic point of view, this offensive is an opening salvo of the new wave of the world proletarian revolution, and we direct all revolutionary forces to understand it within this context. With the restoration of capitalism in China in 1976, imperialism launched a counterrevolutionary offensive which peaked around the year 2000, and today is facing death at the hands of the proletariat and oppressed nations. While our immediate task is to support the international component of the united front, the strategic stage of our revolution is still the reconstitution of the Communist Party. Without a Communist Party – the heroic combatant organized to wage revolution – we will be unable to direct the energy of this new wave. If we do not understand this as our main task, we will be failing in our internationalist duty, and will seriously harm the revolutionary movements of nations oppressed by US Imperialism.

The struggle against revisionism is inseparable from our internationalist duty. Anyone who denies this fact is not a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist, and therefore not a consistent anti-imperialist. Alongside our unconditional support for the resistance, and active participation in the international component of the united front, we will expose collaborators and opportunists who break this front. In particular we want to point out that the Party for “Socialism” and “Liberation,” went from rallying to welcome the pro- Zionist Brazilian President Lula in his visit to the “united states”, to hosting rallies for the Palestinians. (When Lula was elected president, they referred to his participation in the imperialist invasion of Haiti as a “mistake.”) They also promote the supposed “socialist” character of China’s ruling imperialist party, a party which called on the resistance to “immediately cease hostilities,” and buys weapons from the Zionists which are tested on Palestinians. They fully support the genocidal “Communist Party” of India (Marxist), which “strongly condemns” the Palestinian resistance. At the rallies they hosted, they could not refrain from referring to the government of Cuba as “socialist,” the day after this government expressed “serious concern” over the “escalation of violence between Israel and Palestine” and called for a two-state solution, all of which, it must be stressed, is firmly against the revolutionary will of the Cuban people. The “CP”USA reactionaries supported a statement from the “Communist Party” of “israel” which has unequivocally condemned “both sides.” As always, the social imperialists and their petite-bourgeois “socialist” lackeys strive to place limitations on the struggle of the masses, to divert them into a form that is most acceptable to their narrow class interests, even as the masses sacrifice their lives to tear themselves free of these limitations.

Failing to condemn these revisionists is failing to support the resistance. This should not be mistaken for sectarianism, since the overwhelming majority of active masses, including misled members of these revisionist organizations, are learning in practice to defend the red line on Palestine. The only sectarianism is from the minority of capitulationists and fascist collaborators breaking the iron unity necessary for resistance, and using their brand recognition to undermine the long term task of waging violent socialist revolution in this country. So long as we wage this ideological struggle within the united front and alongside the masses, with the aim to win over the vast majority and isolate the minority revisionist leadership, it can do nothing but aid the Palestinian nation in its struggle for liberation.

Lenin pointed out in his work Marxism and Revisionism:

“What we now frequently experience only in the domain of ideology, namely, disputes over theoretical amendments to Marx; what now crops up in practice only over individual side issues of the labour movement, as tactical differences with the revisionists and splits on this basis—is bound to be experienced by the working class on an incomparably larger scale when the proletarian revolution will sharpen all disputed issues, will focus all differences on points which are of the most immediate importance in determining the conduct of the masses, and will make it necessary in the heat of the fight to distinguish enemies from friends, and to cast out bad allies in order to deal decisive blows at the enemy.

The ideological struggle waged by revolutionary Marxism against revisionism at the end of the nineteenth century is but the prelude to the great revolutionary battles of the proletariat, which is marching forward to the complete victory of its cause despite all the waverings and weaknesses of the petty bourgeoisie.”

Palestine is recognized as an “obvious” issues for revolutionaries: it is a “litmus test”. If the revisionists cannot muster up the strength to unreservedly support the resistance, and loudly and concretely expose the capitulators and traitors, what will they do when the masses of the US, who live in the heart of a steadily crumbling empire, take up arms to help sweep imperialism and all reaction from the face of the earth?
