Three years to this day, the Palestinian National Resistance launched Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, delivering a decisive blow against Zionism and U.S. imperialism. In a meticulously planned aerial assault, Palestinian fedayeen unleashed a barrage of rockets and smashed through the concentration camp walls enclosing Gaza. Members of the resistance paraglided into occupied territory, shattered fortifications, and stood triumphantly upon land long occupied by the Zionist Entity.
The operation struck at a moment when the world imperialist system sought to impose disarmament and capitulation upon the Palestinian national movement. Al-Aqsa Flood shattered that design. Al-Aqsa Flood followed the path opened by the Nabi Musa uprising of 1920 and the Great Revolt of 1936 against British colonial rule, through the eruptions of the two Intifadas in 1988 and 1993. The Palestinian people have repeatedly demonstrated that national liberation is not granted through conversation between the sword and the neck. It is seized through protracted and unrelenting resistance. Operation Al-Aqsa Flood elevated this principle and once again placed Palestine at the center of the worldwide anti-imperialist front.
The Zionist entity responded with intensified genocide against the Palestinian people. Daily bombardment, mass murder, engineered famine, and the systematic destruction of the conditions of life have been unleashed upon the masses in Palestine. The steadfastness of the Palestinian people and resistance under conditions of unremitting genocide serves as inspiration to the global anti-imperialist movement and affirms the fundamental truth of revolutionary practice: it is right to rebel.
There can be no conditions placed upon the legitimacy of resistance. A people subjected to occupation, siege, and genocide possesses the absolute right to employ every form of struggle necessary for their liberation. Only an end to the Zionist entity itself will bring Palestinian liberation.
Proletarian internationalism requires uniting the struggles of exploited and oppressed peoples against imperialism in ‘their own’ nations and abroad. U.S. imperialism, through financing, weapons and capital transfers, backed by diplomatic-military protection, constitutes the material foundation of the Zionist occupation. On this third anniversary, let us renew our commitment to protracted revolutionary struggle against U.S. imperialism at home, in unity with the Palestinian people’s struggle against the Zionist entity and the fight of the oppressed and exploited worldwide for the complete overthrow of the imperialist system.
